Within the United Kingdom fire safety legislation requires employers and others who have a degree of control over a premises to carry out a fire risk assessment to ensure the safety of their employees or any other person lawfully in or in close proximity to the premises.
Gartcarron Fire Engineering provides an assessment service to both owners and occupiers of premises to enable compliance with the requirements of the Fire (Scotland) Act 2005 in Scotland and The Regulatory Reform (Fire Safety) Order 2005 in England & Wales.
Specialising in large complex premises, that may or may not have existing fire engineered solution installed. In addition, we provide a service for the adaptation and alteration of listed or Historic buildings.
The fire risk assessments will follow the five step process as laid out in the relevant legislation, namely: -
1 Identify those people at risk;
2 Identify Fire Hazards Present;
3 Evaluate the risk and decide if the existing Fire Safety Measures are adequate;
4 Record Fire Safety Assessment Information;
5 Review the Fire Safety Assessment;
As soon as practicable, once the Fire Risk Assessments have been completed, any recommendations contained within the written assessment, will be explained in detail and advice given as to their application and compliance.
